Old People
The reason this blog exists is my girlfriend might lose her job. She’s a therapist at a geriatric health center that relies on Medicaid. There have been several rounds of layoffs since the OBBBA (wiki), and she fears there will be more.
Congress defunded therapy for old people. These are people who come into my girlfriend’s office every week to find some comfort and companionship. People who have had every type of hardship imaginable, who are in the their last few years, who just want someone to listen to them. Congress—specifically, Republicans, under the thumb of the Trump administration, who threatened to fund their opponents if they didn’t vote for it—are throwing your widowed grandmother out on the street so they can fund their immoral, uneconomical, unamerican agenda of giving tax breaks to billionaires, shunting expensive tariffs onto the rest of us, and raiding farms to deport hard-working people just because they sought a better life.
I’ve had it. I can’t sit by and let my country become a place that hates old people. A place that hates old and young, liberal and conservative, brown and white alike because the only thing our “leaders” care about is the ego of a man who shouldn’t have graduated from the fifth grade.
Vote. Them. Out.
Vote every single Republican out of Congress in the 2026 midterms.
Vote out the cowards who fear Trump more than they care about those they serve.
Vote out the party who cut therapy for old people.
